1. Bully is as Bully Does

It is likely that most of us have been bullied and/or rejected some way, sometime in life.

Whether we are being teased for being overweight, being bullied about some “quirky” aspect of our appearance or personality, rejected by a crush, rejected by a parent, rejected by a school or potential employer, etc., etc. We all have experienced something related to bullying or rejection.

I know it may be hard to conceive, (and it really was for me when I was heavily entrenched in my bullied years), that bullies may be being bullied too…

This bullying could be occurring in their home life by an abusive parent or simply just be a re-enactment of a learned behavior from a parent who has yet to leave their buylling stage. There are so many reasons why a bully may be bullying others.

No matter the reason for someone’s bullying ways, it is ALWAYS true that the bully is feeling so horrible about some aspect of themselves and so desperate for positive reinforcement (and love, too!).

I am not defending bully’s or bullying by any means, as I was heavily, heavily bullied growing up!!!!

What I am trying to get through in this post is that, though you may be the target of a bully, the reason why you are being bullied has nothing to do with you directly and everything to do with the bully and their lack of self esteem.

    Ironic, huh?

But, those who feel so horribly about themselves want others to feel the same way too and tend to take emotions out on others around them. It may even be that what a bully is teasing you about is what they personally don’t like about themselves. Know that the bully is hurting inside too.

You are perfect just the way you are.

    And, so is the bully.

They just may not know it.

So, what am I trying to say?

I am saying that we have to remember who we are. We have to love who we are and not be ashamed of it.

We have to have compassion for those who do not have compassion for themselves or others.

And, mostly, we have to forgive and forget.

    The past is the past.

    People change.

Let go and let your true self shine brightly!!!

Love yourself so completely that you do not need acceptance from others.

Have compassion for the bully so that they can learn to have compassion for themselves.

    Know that they are hurting.

    We all deserve love.

    We are all loved.

    We are all one!

  2. Ahimsa

    Yes, she has such beauty
Yet, she holds so many lies
When she looks into the mirror
She can’t see her own disguise

    Nothing is ever good enough
    Boredom overwhelms
    She continues to sink deeper
But her cries don’t make a sound

The weight of striving for perfection
    Has whittled her tiny frame
    Now any sort of rejection
Has her searing in raging pain

    Holding on, holding on
    Always hoping to get better
    Marching on, marching on
Now, this is an open letter

  3. I Will Be Your Shining Light in the Darkest of the Days

    Hey there superstar
    Don’t you remember
    Who you are?
Did you get blinded by the light?

    You should know
    I will always be here
    For you
    In case you lose sight

    So, don’t give in
    Don’t give up
    There’s nothing wrong
    With messing up

    Put up a fight
    To live your life
    I promise you
    Everything will be
    Alright
