  3. “Check it Out! You Can Be BRAND NEW Right Now!”

As I write this blog from my beautiful AirBnB apartment in Greenwich Village on a perfect spring day in New York, I am reminded that at any moment we can make a new choice.

Since today is Easter, and it’s also the time of Passover, I am reminded of the themes of this time and it goes along so well with spring.

In the Christian tradition, today is the day that Jesus rose from the dead. Now, I don’t consider myself to be a religious person, but I do believe that there are rich spiritual gifts to be found in every tradition, and I personally consider myself to be a Christian Mystic. Which means I honor ALL spiritual paths, and the one that I really love a lot are the teachings of Jesus. Again, I’m not referring to the religious teachings of the Church, but the deep teachings of Grace and Love that Jesus taught on the planet.

And today, in the Christian tradition, the focus is on resurrection or redemption. It’s a promise that with the Grace of The Uni-verse, all things can be made brand new. No matter what has happened to us over our lifetime, in this moment, we can offer and ask for Help and Grace, and The Uni-verse will deliver it to us. To do so, we must be willing to give up or to die and surrender to our limiting beliefs and our fear, and be willing to forgive ourselves, forgive others and begin again, anew.

To me, I see this time and the motif of the resurrection as a beautiful symbol showing us that when we die, we surrender to our fears and embrace our fears, no matter how scary they are; we are born of the spiritual life, a life of miracles, a life dedicated to the practice of BEING the PRESENCE of LOVE on the planet. Not from a religious point of view, but from a spiritual point of view.

There is a great phrase, “Every sinner has a future, every saint has a past”. With this awareness, we can let go and allow ourselves to see ourselves and life with new eyes.

Similarly, the time of Passover in the Jewish tradition commemorates the story of the Exodus, in which the ancient Israelites were freed from slavery in Egypt.

Again, we have the theme of going from darkness to light, fear to love, slavery to freedom. This is also the same beautiful message that Mother Earth gives us during this time of the year when we are transitioning from the depths of winter to the new promise of life in spring.

All of these stories and these patterns in nature are clues about what is possible within our own lives and our own minds. We can become so attached to a story about who we were or who we used to be that we keep living that story out over and over and over again.

But when we begin to challenge that story, when we begin to allow ourselves to see ourselves as being brand new, and when we step into forgiveness of ourselves and others, THEN we step into the spiritual rebirth that is promised by this season.

One of the major fears that I am stepping out of is the fear of moving to New York. Since I have been here for a week, there has been one sign after another that is showing me that this is where I am headed next. But it’s so scary. I love my life in L.A., but the subtle Whispers of The Uni-verse are nudging me to go and it’s almost like they are saying, “When you make this move, your life will expand beyond your wildest dreams”. And yet there is a part of me that doesn’t trust that - STILL!

So the way that I am going to bust out of my darkness and my fear is to begin to plan a move. I can’t believe I am admitting this to YOU, my lovely Reader - it’s scary, because now I know that you are going to hold me accountable!

So, how can you face a fear? How can you allow yourself to be reborn into a spiritual life? How can you change your mind and move yourself from slavery to freedom?

  6. It’s Not About the Money!!!!

“It is easy in the world to live after the world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.”

    - Ralph Waldo Emerson, was a Transcendental man!

    It’s not about the money.

    It’s never about the money.

Many great philosophers teach that when we follow our passion the money follows.

So do not be afraid to follow your heart.

Everyone is here to support you.

    Everyone loves you.

If someone seems to react in anger, aggression, and the like toward you when you are choosing to follow your heart, know that you intimidate them… they are living in fear.

Just follow your intuition and they will understand.

Do not be afraid to stand in your full power, to be the leader instead of the follower.

You might inspire others to step out and stand in their own power!!!!!!

  7. I Truly, Madly, Deeply Love Myself!!!

It is very empowering to love and understand your true self.

The more aware you become, the more apparent your egoic (“false”) character becomes.

You begin to understand that it is your choice to be your true self or your egoic self. That you are the one limiting yourself, no one else is.

    What stops us?

    I think you know!!!!

    Fear.

    But fear of what?

    Being unique.

    Being passionate.

    Stepping out on our own.

    Doing something different.

    Not “having”.

Yes, it is very scary to be your true self in a world full of ego.

But is it not more painful to hide who you really are?

    The key is baby steps.

If you know in your heart that you would rather be a model than a doctor but your parents would highly disapprove, understand that if you do what you love and you do it passionately, they will come around.

If you know that you are gay or bi but your parents/friends/etc. are “closed minded”, know that YOU need to honor and love your true self.

The people who really love you for you will love you and be there for you no matter what.

Always know that the universe is here supporting, loving, and giving you what you need in these times of uncertainty.

By being your true self, by facing your fears, by replacing limiting beliefs with positivity, by replacing hate with love, you are helping others become their true selves. YOU are helping the world become a better place!

    Believe in yourself.

    It will save the world!!!!!!

  8. Wake Up Call… Again!!!

For months it seems like I’ve been begging the universe for more time, more energy, more space, more freedom… so on and so on. I remember telling my wonderful boyfriend, (who always tells me to relax and enjoy everything, to not worry, to let go, and whose advice I need to take more of), that the next time I would allow myself time to “do nothing” was when I literally could not remove myself from my own bed because I was that sick.

Then, a few days ago, the universe gave me exactly what I asked for… I was so sick that I had to spend the next few days constricted to my own bed doing nothing. Boo!!! This was no fun!!

I just don’t understand how in my messed up mind this made sense?? And I know soo many people think the same exact way!!

Why are we making ourselves so unhealthy?

Do we see how many people are suffering from anxiety, depression, insomnia, and the like???

Nothing is more important then your health and well being.

Yet, scary to admit, the first (the FIRST) thing I thought about the morning after I first barfed my brains out (and still hadn’t eaten that much because I couldn’t hold it down), was “Oh, I’m feeling better today, I think I can maybe see if I can go for a walk or something”.

And to add to this… for some reason it gave my pleasure to show my boyfriend how emaciated looking I was because I hadn’t eaten that much and/or hadn’t kept anything down, so I show him, and he says, “Well, before you were sick, you weren’t that far off from looking like that anyways”.

And it really, TRULY (I pinky swear), hit me when he said that!

I was like, “What the f!@#, Keyra?” What are you doing to yourself?

I have been spending hours at the gym and working nonstop.

I have been neglecting the loves of my life (the one’s who have been by my side every second I’ve been sick).

I have been so disrespectful and unappreciative of all the love and abundance in my life.

But most of all, this whole situation showed how little I value myself :(

And it’s crazy, the whole time I was “doing” things like working out for hours or working more than I had to, I was saying to myself, “I wish that I could just go for a walk and do yoga today.” OR “I wish that I could sleep in and eat some ice cream and watch movies with my mom.”

The things you wish you could be doing are the things you should (I say should in the sense that your heart wants it) be doing.

We all need to stop being so hard on ourselves.

We all need to make our wishes realities.

We all need to love ourselves more. Take better care of ourselves.

If your body says, “Today I just need to go for a walk”, then do that!

If your body says, “I want some cookies”. Then eat one or two!!

Know that by healing yourself, you are really helping to heal the world.

One positive thought, turns into another, into another, and helps to positivify the world!!

    You really, truly do count.

So listen to what you want and cast fear to the side.

    Heal yourself.

  9. To Live is to Grow

I really have been on a spiritual bootcamp recently!

I’m attending Mastin Kipp’s Love Uni-versity, am using Brian Johnson’s “Philosopher’s Notes”, am part of Deepak Chopra’s mediation challenge, am reading a book on personal power through awareness given to me by a friend, and have found that I keep on attracting like minded people who can give me their insights (and probably other things too.. I just can’t remember)!

I have been learning some very powerful things that are actually quite simple.

    (1) Should is something that “should” be removed from our vocabulary! We never have to live the life of another. Life is OURS for the taking, so don’t be afraid to make it your own!

    (2) Energy is everywhere. If you are emitting negative energy, that is what you will attract. If you are emitting positive energy, that is what you will attract. And, you will attract those who will help challenge you and aid in your growth.

    (3) Every situation is an opportunity to learn and grow.

    (4) None of us are perfect and who wants to be??!!!

    (5) Ego is everywhere! But, delve deep into your ego (do not escape it or put it down). Go so far into it and understand it (because this is how you perceive yourself)… then let it go.

    (6) Refrain from judging (even yourself).Try to walk a mile in another’s shoes to understand how they view the world. Replace your judgements with compassion.

    (7) Treat everything with love and compassion and it shall be returned.

    (8) Thoughts are powerful!!!!! You can really create your “perfect” world if you just believe.

    (9) Fear is nothing to fear. Dive deep into your fears, treat them with compassion, and ask the universe to give you the strength and persistence to keep going!!!

    (10) Appreciate everything and think positively!!!!

Those are just a few of the things I’ve been learning. And I’m quite sure there’s more to come.

As I was working today, a florist brought in a beautiful arrangement of flowers for display. I took a minute to really look at and appreciate the beauty of this flower. And there were many more flowers yet to bloom.

So, I have a little exercise for myself and all of us!!! Watch, appreciate, enjoy, love a flower from it blooming to it’s death (and even love and appreciate the bud in it’s death). Talk to the flower if you want! Write down your perceptions, your thoughts, your feelings. Do you draw any parallels between your life and the flower??

I also noted on my nature walk this morning that nature is truly the best thing ever. Trees just stand there for hundreds of years in the same position and DO absolutely nothing for that entire time… they just are!!!! I hope you get what I’m trying to say here (or I might just be too tired to get the point across)!!

Peace and love hugs to my love bugs XoXo from MyEmoHeart

  10. Valentine’s Day Love

This Valentine’s Day, take a minute to ask yourself if you give YOURSELF enough love.

Do you always feel drained, on the brink of an emotional breakdown, and always snap at your loved ones?

Then you might not be giving ENOUGH love to yourself!

You may not be making enough TIME for yourself!

Trust me, I’m learning this right now myself!

Remember, the best way to love others is to first LOVE and GIVE to yourself!

Wishing you a peaceful and loving day from MyEmoHeart
