I miss the smell of the ocean air,
I miss the wind against my hair,
I miss the sand between my toes,
My solace, my escape, my place to flow.
I miss the sun against my face,
Dancing upon the gracious breeze,
Feeling no stress, just simple ease,
The one who kept me by her side,
When there was no one else in,
I could confide,
But now it’s just a faint memory,
Bittersweet, but, always, within me.
